Due to the Valentine’s Day promotion dinner the Beas River Chalet Hong Kong was offering, we decided to stay there for the weekend. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Hong Kong, and while it couldn’t be worse for a tourist looking for urban exploration, it’s a great place to just hang out, relax, and bike (in my opinion, the scenery from the biking trail is gorgeous).
I’ve actually reviewed the Beas River Chalet when I stayed there three months prior to this stay, so I’ll be focusing more on the suite tour and the changes made instead of the actual hotel.
Rates at Valentine’s Day were a little more expensive, at about HK$1000 per night.

After waving off a friend visiting her home in Jakarta, I arrived the hotel at sunset, and this time we checked in at LEVADE, the hotel’s shop.

While my dad checked us in, I checked out the food spread at the food court. It was pretty good, though everything was for a price. We took some drinks up to our room.

The exterior of the chalet is classic and feels a little 1870s, and was in mint condition, so I loved it.

We walked up the stairs, which we got the exact same room as we did last time (I think that the hotel only has two interconnecting rooms, though I’m not too sure).

The hallways are fresh, outdoors and feel kind of country club ish, perfectly relating to the chalet.

The door signage is also made of horse hooves, in correlation to the Hong Kong Jockey club brand.

My friends checked into the Beas River Suite, which, as the name suggests, is the hotel’s suite. As prices are generally low (I didn’t book due to the fact that there are only two of them, and both of them were booked), I was intrigued to check it out.

The living room featured a sofa, some seating, flatscreen TV, a desk that faced the window and the same view as there was in our original room.

There was a half bath by the entrance, which was pretty small but functional, not that many people would be using that bathroom.

The half bathroom featured a shower, though it was much smaller than the standard full bathroom.

Both bathrooms, like the standard room, featured Muguet D’Ogive amenities.

The bedroom featured a huge king bed (which easily could have fit five people), a chaise longue, another desk, and a flatscreen TV.

As if the suite wasn’t nice enough, the bathroom was even more impressive, featuring a tub, a massive separate walk-in shower, and a sink.

Overall, both rooms were incredibly practical for a one night stay, and the latter sure had a great rate on its hands (which probably explains its lack of availability all the time).
Once again we had dinner at Horseshoe Grill, but I didn’t manage to take pictures of the food as it was pretty dark.
The second day we had breakfast at the food court, The Old Clubhouse. I really enjoyed my cheese omelet on my last stay, and while I also enjoyed the noodles I ordered this time, it kind of had the “packaged soup concentrate” broth, which I didn’t really like. I wouldn’t hesitate to eat it again, but there are better choices up on the menu.

I had a commitment to do in the city, so we checked out early in the morning to get there quick.
Bottom line on the Beas River Chalet Hong Kong
The Beas River Chalet Hong Kong is a convenient, cheap and relaxing option for those, especially from inside the city, to spend a night in the Hong Kong countryside.
That said, I don’t think I’ll be writing reviews on the hotel unless I do stay at the Starlit camp, as service isn’t really existent throughout the hotel (except inside Horseshoe Grill, where the service is consistently great). The rooms are comfortable, the grounds are beautiful but the hotel is just so consistent due to the fact that it’s mostly self-serve.
