Annyonghasaeyo from Seoul! I just flew Korean Air’s Airbus A330-300 from home, and I can’t say I went in with high expectations, given what I’ve heard.

I’m actually really impressed with Korean Air’s business class, and can’t wait to fly with them again next Wednesday.

Korean Air A330 First Class

Anyone spot the difference. It’s too minimal for me, especially for something 1.5 times the price.

Korean Air A330 Business Class Seat

Korean Air offers eighteen fully flat seats in a 2-2-2 configuration on an A330, so they’re actually mediocre, though acceptable longhaul business class seats. They’re pretty far behind Cathay Pacific’s longhaul business class, but much more than enough for a three hour flight.

The seats recline into a pretty long flat bed, which is substantially padded, I suppose, though I’ve had better padding on some flights.

The seat pitch is humongous, almost too much so, as there’s only so long an arm can be as to reach the inflight storage.

Speaking of inflight storage, there are two huge compartments: one in front of you (a bit too far out of reach), and one right next to you (perfect, especially in bed position).

I’ll leave it at that for now, and I’ll leave the other details to the trip report.

Korean Air Business Class Meals

I also had low expectations of the food, but they also blew me away. I’ll be straightforward and say that they overcooked the appetizer, but everything else was spot on, including the ice cream, which was soft!

Korean Air A330 Business Class Headphones

This is the major disappointment of Korean Air’s business class product. The headphones are cheap, low quality and they didn’t work well.

Korean Air A330 Business Class Bathroom

The bathroom was kind of old style with a handle but otherwise substantial. There was mouthwash but no “premium” amenities.

My only beef is that economy passengers kept coming up to the lavatory despite the cabin crew’s orders. Ugh!

Korean Air A330 Business Class Service

This is what pleased me most about the flight. The flight attendants were all charming, nice, and treated my sister especially well. There was a language barrier, but that was basically the only problem there was, which is more of a management problem than a service problem.

Bottom line on Korean Air A330 Business Class

This product blew me right out of my feet. It was way more than I expected – polished, comfortable and also pretty cheap.

I can’t wait to fly their 747 next Wednesday – FINALLY, no more A330s!
