A few days ago I flew from Yangon to Hong Kong as a conclusion to my amazing Myanmar trip in Dragonair A321 economy class, with aircraft registration B-HTF.

It was a good flight, a redeye where I slept for most of the flight. The airplane was loud and featured the old Airbus interiors, but I got to Hong Kong safely, on time and without hassle.

Looks like the same can’t be said for this morning’s same flight on the same aircraft.

What am I seeing from the web?

  • The aircraft left Yangon slightly early
  • The aircraft, for some reason, turned back to Yangon and stayed till the afternoon
  • It is disputed when the aircraft arrived Hong Kong, though it wasn’t on time – at least it arrived safely

According to FlightAware the aircraft got as far as Laos before turning back, and arriving at 3am, though neither source is the most trustworthy here.

Obviously it’s a small scattered thing I’m pointing out as we’d probably know by now if the aircraft didn’t get home safely, but I’m still interested what happened to the aircraft especially since it’s less than a week when I flew the exact same route.

So far no news sites have updated on this, though that might change.

Does anyone know what happened?
