The Qantas Lounge Hong Kong – WOW!

Hello from London, fresh off my first flight in a reverse herringbone business class seat! I’ll talk about my first impressions of the seat in a separate post, but I visited three lounges in the airport, one of which I’m dying to talk about.

The Qantas Lounge Hong Kong Seating

The Qantas Lounge is massive and features lots and lots of seating. It holds the same concept as The Cabin, except that it’s much airier, has much more natural light and is much bigger.
The concept of the lounge is minimalistic blue-wood-red-white, which the lounge delivers in an unbelievable way.

Also, many of the seats have power ports next to them, which is a refreshing touch.

The Qantas Lounge Hong Kong Food and Amenities

The Qantas Lounge features a bar and a buffet. The bar has an amazing, energetic bartender, and the food spread is amazing. While I’ve seen more, I haven’t seen better food displayed in any lounge in a while.

The Qantas Lounge also has great showers, though I never got to use them. Their bathroom design reminds me of that of Bread Street Gordon Ramsay back at Hong Kong.

The Qantas Lounge Hong Kong Service

All that can be seen in any top airline lounge I’ve been to in the last year.

But it was the service that set the Qantas Lounge Hong Kong apart. After I arrived, all the staff greeted me and offered me a seat at the buffet.

I went on my picture spree, and asked for a picture of the shower. The shower attendant gladly obliged, and opened the door for me while I took some photos. Of course this isn’t the first time someone’s done that, so she asked me why I took photos of the shower. I told her briefly about the site (mainly talking about airlines so it wouldn’t bias the service).
After my breakfast, she came and asked me where I was going, which airline I was taking, how my parents were and soon we started a conversation regarding my blog.
It was something I’ve never had at a business class airport lounge (for the record, I’ve never taken first class, so I don’t know how that weighs up).

Bottom line

While I’ll talk more about it in the review, this is the top lounge of the year in my book.
