At around 8AM we arrived Lijiang Airport, where we were directed into the international terminal for check-in.

After that we were told to go to the domestic terminal for customs.

The Lijiang Airport domestic terminal is open, airy and features lots of check-in terminals.

We went down to the boarding gate, and after socialising a little, boarding was called, where we were bussed onto the plane.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a China Eastern plane, but it looked gorgeous with the backdrop.

Upon getting on the plane, I was thrilled to see that it was one of China Eastern’s new Sky Interior planes. Not many airlines feature the Sky Interior on the Boeing 737-700, but China Eastern is one of them, and it sure looked good.

The flight attendants were clearly excited about running the new Sky Interior plane, and welcomed us all on board, handing us water.

We walked through business class, which featured personal PTVs and looked fairly comfortable.

The Economy cabin was really attractive, and was also one big cabin with 21 rows of 126 economy seats.

We got to our seats, where I quickly realised that it was in front of the exit row. At least I secured a window seat, but note yourselves that row 38 is the worst row you can get on China Eastern’s Boeing 737-700.

The seat, at least, featured an adjustable headrest and adequate legroom.

There were air nozzles at the seat, and they were actually venting cold air, which was a joy.

I immediately noticed how big the windows were, and settled down into home for the next five hours or so.

The plane soon pushed back and taxied over to the runway.

We were first in line for takeoff, and an announcement was made saying “don’t worry, and thank you for your time”. Made sense last time when we were tenth in line for takeoff, but what?

After takeoff I visited the toilet briefly.

I spent the rest of the short flight staring out the window.

Soon enough we began our descent into Kunming Airport.

We had views of an AirAsia A320 and a China Eastern A330.

We deplaned quickly, and transit at Kunming Airport was rather smooth, I suppose…
