YTHK’S Top Three Flight Reviews of 2015

Home » Airlines » Cathay Pacific » YTHK’S Top Three Flight Reviews of 2015

This year, I’ve vowed to take more airline products so I could review them for you. Out of fourteen flights (which actually isn’t a lot compared to what I have planned for this year), I’ve reviewed Thai Airways’ A330 business class, Korean Air’s business class, China Eastern’s 737 economy class, Cathay Pacific’s 777-300ER business class, Dragonair’s economy class and Yangon Airways’ economy class. Add that to Jason’s few airlines he tried this year (including American, Air Canada and a few others), and I think it was a pretty successful year for the blog.

One thing I want to see is how you guys find my trip reports useful. The reason I try to find cheaper business class fares is because I figured most people reading the blog would be more interested in business class trip reports as they have the miles to afford it.

So what were my top three flight reports of 2015?

1. The Easy Way to North Korea – Korean Air 604 Airbus A330-300 Business Class Hong Kong to Seoul Incheon

I found Korean Air one of the best ways to fly shorthaul, and I look forward to trying them out longhaul as well in February. I knew Korean Air was one of the more useful reviews out there given how easy business class seats on them are to redeem, so I’m happy you guys enjoyed it.

2. Weekend with the Mosquitoes – Thai Airways 609 Airbus A330-300 Business Class Hong Kong to Phuket

Given how affordable Thai Airways business class can be on shorthaul routes, I’m not that surprised most of you found this review useful. Thai Airways was a perfectly pleasant way to get to Phuket – I’m just surprised only 54% of you guys found the (service-wise much better) inbound from Phuket as useful.

3. To London and Paris – Cathay Pacific 239 Boeing 777-300ER Business Class Hong Kong to London Heathrow

While Asia Miles limits to two business class seats, I know AAdvantage releases as much as five business class seats per Cathay Pacific flight, so I’m happy you guys liked this review. Personally, it wasn’t the best flight of my year (I guess my own best flight goes to one of my Korean Air flights – though I have exciting flights booked for this year), though I think Cathay Pacific still has one of the best hard products in business class (and economy class) out there.

I guess you guys are more accustomed to business class reviews, which makes sense, as there’s a bit more “substance” in a business class review due to the differences in the hard product. A bit more “aircraft porn”, if you may. 😉

Meanwhile, the most popular economy class review came from a flight I flew last year but published this year, Dragonair’s economy class on the A330.

I’ll be talking about my most popular hotel and lounge reviews in a bit, as Jason’s made the top of the list for a few of them. 🙂

What would you like us to review next year?
